SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for working closely with the Loan Servicing Manager to ensure the prompt and effective booking and servicing of approved loans for all types of customers, ensuring the department's compliance with operating policies and procedures and outside regulatory requirements; organizing the work, activities and human resources of the department; and providing periodic reports.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Assists with the management of the Loan Servicing area to ensure that all duties relating to the servicing of consumer and commercial loans are completed promptly and efficiently:
    1. Oversees reconcilement of various loan applications.
    2. Oversees the process of entering new loans in the appropriate loan application.
    3. Ensures the timely and accurate preparation of billings and year-end tax forms.
    4. Monitors the recording of loan payments.
    5. Develops techniques to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the outputs.
    6. Assists with compliance of regulatory requirements and SOX controls.
    7. Attends internal meetings and serves on committees as assigned, etc.
    8. Assists with compiling data required with regard to internal and external audits and examinations.
    9. Assists with tracking of all reconcilements completed and stored electronically for external audit and exam purposes.
  1. Complies with established operating policies and procedures in order to maintain adequate controls and to support the bank's adherence to outside regulatory requirements.
  1. Assists with department personnel:
    1. Works in conjunction with the Loan Servicing Manager to organize, schedule and distribute work among personnel.
    2. Keeps personnel informed of pertinent policies and procedures; creates an atmosphere in which upward communication from employees is encouraged.
    3. Consults with Loan Servicing Manager on any matters concerning corrective action procedures relating to employees.
    4. Administers personnel policies and procedures as established by bank policy.
  1. Provides periodic reports to the Loan Servicing Manager, various committees and other groups as required throughout the bank.
  1. Manages assigned special projects related to but not limited to existing vendor relationships, new offerings from the CORE system provider, systems and/or applications utilized by other loan related areas of the bank.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

An Associates Degree in a related field is preferred; or, equivalent combination of education and specialized banking experience related to loan servicing and operations.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of five (5) years' experience in related positions.  Previous experience with personal computers, Word and Excel software and office equipment is also required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Must possess broad lending knowledge/experience; and, a working knowledge of banking operations which impact all lending functions.  Also required are strong communication skills; well-developed interpersonal skills (with service orientation); demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills (with the ability to effectively facilitate and manage change); and above-average organizational, project management and analytical skills.  Must have the ability to deal tactfully and efficiently with fellow bank employees and customers.  Must be able to work at a pace that ensures that established deadlines are met.
